i bit the bullet today. ordered a dynatrac front end conversion kit. the one that uses their hubs. new u joints ordered and i went with their rebuildable ball joints too. i currently have good (meaning not squeaking today) unit bearings, but bad ball joints. gotta pull the bearings to do the ball joints. never ends. dynatrac recommends using the permanently lubricated ujoints in the axle joints as they are not hollow and have proven to be much stronger than the greasable ones available. i went with their suggestion. after this im gonna have to keep this truck forever!!!
