Hey guys, hopefully your weekend is going well so far.
Below you will see a 4:10 axle carrier mentioned. Me and Dan Mininger were actually having a conversation about this the other day on the phone. I was speculating that there has to be another 3rd member that will bolt into the power wagon axle housing making it pretty easy to put taller gears in the power wagon without having to do a whole new gear setup. Plus it would likely be a significant cost savings compared to buying the coveted highway gears. Now I realize for most running the original flathead engine probably need or want the lower gears given the the "power" in power wagon is done almost entirely through gearing but for some of us who like the prospect of re powering to be able to run with the speed of other cars on the road this may be a viable option assuming you also have the breaking power to be able to get the damn thing stopped. Obviously you would again be limited to the ratios available from the possible donor vehicle candidates. Does anyone have any insight on this?
