Ditto on your 10,000. Mine empty weighs 3,200--put a PW on it and it has done fine over the last decade. One big mistake was not adjusting the brake controller after several years of no issues. On the last Southern Rally, the front discs and rotors wound up doing most of the braking. Great folks at the rally helped me replace the cooked calipers and pads.
ALWAYS double check your controller with max loads or even when a beefy trailer is empty.
