1950 Powerwagon rear spring question

I started re-assembling the rear suspension on my truck and noticed i had 4 rear spring shackles. Took a look at the old pictures of the truck I took before disassembly and there sure were two per side. Was this a common modofocation? The truck was a some point modified with a Truxmore heavy duty rear spring and traction bar set up. Either way, was not sure if I should teinstall them the way it was before I took it apart or if I should go with one shackle only.
