Appreciate the comments Matt !!! It was indeed a crazy thing to do, but I figured if we could get it road-worthy it would be worth the adventure. That's why I brought Yankee (ace mechanic) with me to help get the beast going. I know what I know & I know what I don't know.

After the first travel day, Yankee headed back to NC, on an airplane. Then I was left to my own to make it back. As you read, there were some breakdowns, a police stop, good folks, bad folks & lots of luck !!!

By driving cross-counrty, I learned more about PW's that I would have any other way. The great thing about the beasts is you can work on them "in the field" with minimal knowledge & tools. And PW's are a magnet for starting a conversation with just about anyone.

So go ahead, buy a PW & drive it home - cross-town or cross-country !!!

Cheers, JB
