I have don a similar conversion on my WC 53. I have the 2 speed transfer case. I replaced the transfercase mounts with ones out of the 6X6 WC ?? it has the correct bolt hole for the frame. I put the emergency brake on the transfercase and bought the correct yoke that mounts to the brake drum. You are correct, there are not the cut outs in the floor to allow for the e-brake on the transfer case. I made spacers and lowered the transfercase 2 inches. It fits. I am not sure that I am happy with the increase angle that the jack shaft between the transmission and transfercase. I think that I am getting vibrations because of it. If you do this you will also have to remove the frame member that is found beteeen the trans and transfer or the jack shaft will hit it. It just unbolts. Its there to give support to the tire carrier. I have saved mine.

My transmission is a SM420 (Chevy truck as I have a 327 Chevy engine) and had to replace the front half of the jack shaft. I have considered getting the e brake that mounts on the transmission but they are really rare. I have considered getting a Microlock and using it as my E-Brake.

Email me if you wish.
