I'm coming up on 42 in a couple of weeks.
But I hung around with a lot of older guys who still had their old hot rods. In fact, one really old goat down the street has a 51 Olds Rocket 88 with some huge Olds engine in it, somewhere in the 400 cubies. It is one of supposedly three left that has the factory moulded plexiglass windows in the hood so you can see the engine. He drag races it anytime the track is open. And then there's all of his buddies with lead sled Mercs and Fords that show up. Even a chopped 55 Ford pickup.
Next door neighbor has 56 and 36 Ford pickups, both hot rodded. A neighbor gal has a 56 Ford and a 53 (I think) Chevy pickup.
And then there's the Duece and T-bucket crowd...
