I have flown and displayed the flag long before 9-11.
I also support what we did in Korea and Vietnam, and wish we had the resolve to let the military have an unfettered hand in both wars. At least in Korea, there are millions who are free due to our sacrifice. And to rid the world of terrorists, there are going to be many more sacrifices to come.
As for the small amount of ordnance we have dropped... All I can say is WWII style carpet bombing is not going to work. The country is mostly wasteland. How to you carpet bomb an empty moonscape? The best course is to use satellite and other intel and strike anywhere a concentration builds up or bunkers are found. This isn't like Korea where the Chicoms were so thick we would napalm them by the thousands until we ran out. Rather, the terrorists are like rats in the cellar. You have to root them out and kill them one by one. You don't need to burn down the house to do that.
