Fuel Gauge voltage dropping resistor

I'm rewiring my 46 WDX. I'm converting it to 12Volt Negative ground. I'm installing all new led lighting and a solenoid operated starter. As far as the only original 6 Volt component I plan to retain is the 3 wire fuel gauge. I plan to use a ceramic resistor to reduce the voltage to the Fuel Gauge.
What value (ohms) resistor do I need to use.
