I don't know whether he really improved anything, other than the V8 and overdrive. Disc brakes. Maybe the D60 steering geometry is better than stock.
He's running 40" tires. The 9-16 are 37". Jeep suspension might be a little smoother, but no difference offroad.

Kind of looks like he went through the trouble of modernizing the truck to stock specs.
