It has always been my thought that we should build high quality equipment. If I was in charge of an engine company, instead of blaming the fuel for my customers' issues, I would design and build an engine that worked under all conditions. The OEMs set the fuel specification at ASTM, so they know exactly what to expect of the fuel in the market place.

I represent companies that make biodiesel, not ethanol. We make zero excuses for fuel quality. We want every drop of fuel sold to meet the specs set by the OEMs.

America didn't become great by whining and complaining. We became great by fixing stuff. It takes a little bit of work to change the way we do things. If we were lazy, we could just keep buying imported oil until we run out of money. Instead of waiting out the clock, we are trying to invent new fuel so we can stay in the game.

I know it's irritating when your gas goes bad from sitting, but I know soldiers have lost their lives and their limbs making sure crude continues to flow through the Straits of Hormuz. Which is worse? These things are all relative, but we don't often keep these consequences in mind.

We all take pride in our American made trucks. I'd encourage everyone to take pride in American made fuel. You wouldn't bring an import to the Power Wagon Rally, why fuel your Dodge on imported fuel?

America has lost its edge in industry and manufacturing. Agriculture is one thing we do better than anyone else. Agriculture takes free solar energy and turns it into food and energy that we need-food and energy that are worth real money.

If you live in rural America, maybe you can get a job at Walmart, but Walmart and every other national chain take more money out of small towns than they put in. Agriculture turns sunshine into money. Agriculture puts money into rural America. I see no other way to keep middle America alive than to reinvent the things we can deliver through agriculture.

I suppose you could say I support renewable fuels for political reasons.
