I'm a big fan of the straight eight. Our '47 Packard has the 356 cu. inch eight, nine main bearings… The smoothest engine I've ever been around. I'm sure this Chrysler is much the same.
BUT - if you should ever want to hot-rod one of these - forget it. If there ever were any speed parts for these things, they're long-gone by now. Actually, I know of one four-carb intake manifold for the Buick 322, but it's safely locked away in the Peterson Museum's old-time Speed Shop...
