I was about to fab a license plate protector similar to yours when at the last moment I took the 'quick and dirty' way out. Had a piece of 1/8" steel plate laying around. Cut it to the size of the license plate to serve as a 'backer'...drilled four holes...a quick spray of black paint....done in less than an hour. Nowhere as nice as yours but should serve the purpose, at least for now.
