A tuned intake acutally needs to be about 6 feet long, any added lenght helps. Think Red Ram Dodge. And Ford did use a water heated plate on 2 bbls. Heat is a good thing for street use. So I set a empty beer can on top of my air cleaner and slammed the hood. Made a spacer just a bit shorter then the 'after' dimension of the can.

Man, that truck sure ran sweet. Actually a 410 Merc bored .040 over, Ford Cobrajet C6Oz6250BB cam. 400 hp to the ground at 2500 rpms. The Binford 6000 of F-250s, argh argh argh.
