The guys have all given you good ideas. You stated that the wobble happens when you hit something just right in the road. That tells me that something is loose. First get the toe in set correctly. The reason I say something is loose is that you did not mention that it happens most times when you hit about 40mph. When you hit something just right you are setting up a vibration in the front end and something is loose enough to allow the wheel to vibrate. You need to check everything and possibly replace parts. Check the following.
1) Wheel bearings adjust them not just check them.
2) adjust king pin bearings. I would replace regardless.
3) replace spring bushings and pins
4) replace drag link cups and springs then adjust
5) adjust steering box
6) tighten steering box and pitman arm bolts
7) check to make sure steering arm is tight
8) replace steering arm if ball is worn.
9) check and most likely replace tie rod ends.
10) make sure everything is well lubricated.

It sounds like a lot of work and it is. On a 54 PW there are worn front end parts guaranteed. You don't know what has or has not been replaced through time. Just take the time to go through the entire front end checking everything. I did the same on my trucks and got rid of vibrations like you are describing.
