The straight hose has a lot of stretch to it. Chrysler sells a good silicone type sealer for automatic transmission gaskets. You can use a thin screw driver between the hose and outlet to loosen the seal and hose for removal. If you don't want to use sealer, to loosen the hose, use the screwdriver.
For a never leak seal on the thermostat housing, use goop on the gasket.
