Soaked them down last night and screwed at the ten rim nuts down about three turns. Hooked up the air compressor with a clamp on chuck and watched the pressure build--at about 35 psi I was about to give up when "WHAM" the lock ring broke loose. A little prying and she lifted right off. Flipped it and the bead was already broken on the other side, so I just kicked the wheel out of the tire.
The last one decided to fight--two sessions with the air, getting up to 45 pounds and beating it back down once. Finally the rim came loose from the wheel with some additional prying with a crow bar--but, the bead took renewed grab on the now loose rim and will not release its grip…if I can't break the bead again tomorrow, it may be sawzall time after all!
