Thewre is a third component to those rimes. It's a steel ring the goes inside the tire before assemble. It sits against the rim. Bolting the two halfs together pinches one bead to the ring to the other bead, keeping the tire locked to the rim in case of run flats. THAT is the propose of the Combat Rim, NOT to make it easy to break down without the split rim hazards. As you have learned, they are NOT easier to break doen than split rims.

And your jack/press method either would not work, and it would ruin those rare and valuable Bead Lock tings. Bead Locks were only sheet metal, with a 1/4": wire 'link'. Most rusted away long since. I wonder if CC Sammy will be making repros?
