Well, all I add is, Dodge did it. They had a recall here recently on their heavy duty truck for tie rod failure. I think it was for some 1 tons and most all 4500 and 5500's. When I took my 5500 in they said the tie rod ends needed to correct the problem were not available so they would do the temporary fix. I guess there was binding issues with some of them with turning. The "fix" before parts came in, was to use the special tool that bent the tie rod to their specs.

I'm sure others on here had it done as well. It always seems crazy to me that a manufacturer has to wait a year to get the parts to fix their own vehicle. I guess all the modern manufacturing techniques and streamlined factories, cnc machines and such can't compete with guys of old. go figure. Makes me wonder what would happen with a national emergency.
