I have maybe 45 miles on my new 230. It has the first break in oil still in it with the z cam/ lifter breakin additive.It has never exceded 135 degrees using the lazer thermometer aimed at the thermostat housing being the hottest part ot the cooling system.My ambient temps have been in the teens and single didgets and each drive has been climbing and decending and low RPMs. The last run I drove in high gear up a long grade climbing almost 2000 feet, no troubles, no smoke and haven't checked the points or timing. I ran the vacuum gauge inside so I could keep an eye on it.I would like to go with a hotter thermostat. I checked the one in it with a candy thermometer and water on the hot plate and can't remember it opening at 140 now, but that was last summer.
