I've been with since 1993 and have never had that. As others said, all they ask is for it to be in a locked garage and not be used for commercial work. The first vehicle I did I had to have it appraised by one of their "approved" appraisers. He came out and charged $75.00 at that time. It is a declared or agreed value policy. If it's totaled or stolen. That is what you get with no depreciation and such.
When I went to do my last truck I called and asked them for an approved appraiser's telephone number. She told me they no longer do that. You set the value and give them a picture. If they disagree, you bring in receipts, detailed pictures and such. They did question mine and they sent it in. She said it normally takes a week or 2 to get a decision. An hour later she called and said I was approved.
I'd suggest finding another agent to deal with. Most any insurance agent can get you a policy with them. We have all kinds of agents around here so you might give that a shot. I honestly have not heard of anyone around here having any hassle with them and I know a few who have had claims and were satisfied with results.
