I think on the newer ones it is engaged different because they say you can do it on the roll. I know my old 1967 Massey 135 you should stop cause it was hard on it. I still stop first and engage it cause it seems strange to lock it while spinning. I have used the brakes many times to stop a wheel from spinning and shift it to the other it works good. I know with 4 wheel drive it sure has much better traction then the Massey 135 ever had. I tend to keep my brake pedals locked together during the winter on ice cause you can spin the tractor around in a circle easy panic braking and on a hill that is not too safe. These power brakes work much better than the old ones did! My old Massey's disk brakes could turn it on a dime in the snow covered ice.
