Got to use the Loader on the John Deere tonight. Boy it is nice compared to my old set up. Even with out my chains on it plowed thru 12 inches of snow with a 1,200+ lb bale of old straw on the spears. Nice part is being a 4x4 the steering and traction from the front tires work great with the extra weight. Tested out my welding and the spears held good with out a problem. Now I need to dig into the manual on the loader to find out how you slow it down with all that weight on it? My other loader I put in a manual hydraulic adjustment orifice to slow down the speed it can tilt and drop. When you have 1200 pounds on the forks you do not want to jerk it around!! If there isn't a adjustment I will put one on the down only hoses to make sure I can't go too fast. The rear 3-point has a adjustment for the speed of the drop. The wind screen is working nice it kept the cold wind out of my face going down the road and also kept straw chaff out of my eyes when moving while carrying a bale up in the air. I feel it is going to be a nice new year moving hay and plowing snow! The rear blade shaves those Frozen Cow Pies off the ground like a hot knife in butter plowing snow in the barn pasture.
