sounds like the 2nd guy knew what he was doing. if concerned I would maybe just balance the pistons (with rods in the equation) usually plenty of meat there to remove. a good balancer will weigh all the pistons and rods and try to come up with the closest combo for the whole set then balance from there. I have balanced some of the 230s and not others. it is nice but even a stock 230 should run really smooth. we are not running them to 7K
