Repairing Combat Rims?

I know I am not the only one who has run across combat rims, or Budd rims in general, which are cracked at the thinnest section. Has anyone attempted repairing these rims or are they destined for the scrap heap? I ask as I have a couple extra combat rims which I've picked up for my truck which have these cracks, but I'd hate to dispose of them if there is a chance somebody can repair them.
