the trans and bellhousing will bolt on to a 251 or 265. the biggest obstacle is they are longer than the 230. so you need a radiator, core support, and need to address the front engine mount situation. you would have to extend backwards the 230 mount. also the frame extensions would need to be lengthened if running a winch. it is a bit involved that's why its rarely done. Parts for 230s performance or stock are much more readily available than for the 251/265 as well. I would just build a 230 with modern cam, shaved head and maybe more carb for performance. that has worked really well for me
