You can put a loop in the line sorta like a spring and it will flex better than a strait metal line. On the fires guys trucks were always having problems with wiring, air lines and hoses getting rubbed spots on them not having bushing and shields where they contact metal on the rough mountain roads. I lost a air line to my brakes that way once I missed a hidden plastic line and it was up against a metal edge. Lucky I had a spare air line splice to fix it with I did not have to leave the fire for faulty equipment. You got to have them fixed in 24 hours or less. That is when your getting paid by the USFS Contractor Regulations.
