I was as at a local farm auction where a 16 year old neighbor brought in about 50 hedge posts (Osage Orange) that he had recently cut. They were all about 10" to 16" diameter, 10' long, with perfectly straight trunks and no branches. They brought around $10.00 each. My cousin bought about half of them and used them for corner posts in his horse corals. I had never seen such nice hedge posts. They will probably still be strong posts 75 years after he and I are long gone.
