On my 1941 WC-12 dodge. Running 6v starter on a 12v system. Foot starter switch. But unlike your civy PW my starter rid is not adjustable.

Same as you. One morning the truck would not start. I immediately thought it was the starter. I went thru the hassle to remove said starter and bring to starter rebuild guy. Only to watch him bench test it and it ran like a banshee! So the starter is fine. In fact he verified this was a rebuilt unit and in excellent shape. As is the foot activated solenoid. Said it looks clean and new also. So.
Not sure if my Non-adjustable foot starter rod got bent, cab moved a tad not allowing the full connection, or I maybe have a bad ground cable to frame/transmission all of a sudden.in any case I'll get on it maybe today
