Yes....it is not an easy task. Are you using 18 oz canvas? I ordered the 18 oz over the 21 oz I have attempted to use. Will see what happens.
The seats are mounted to the floor with carriage bolts thru the keys and a brass saddle washer on top with wing nuts for the round legs. I have made and sold the washers for other Carryall restorers. If you need the washers I have one set left.
