That's frustrating. Probably nothing you haven't thought of already, but fwiw:
Is it happening at about the same amount of slope, speed/RPM and uphill travel?
Does roughness of the terrain seem related at all?
It would be interesting to be able to re-create the conditions and check a fuel pressure gauge - apparently it doesn't happen consistently though (?).
I have had trouble with tiny rust pinholes half-way down a pickup tube. It would suck air when the truck was taking a lot of fuel under power, like pulling a hill on a logging road. Wouldn't show up on pavement unless I was going slow, then increasing throttle abruptly. Never happened with a full tank though. Took forever to figure that one out.
Had a similar problem with fuel starvation in a stock m37. There was a hard kink in a fuel line hose, only acted up when I was pulling a hill in a low gear.
