I have not used a SAE #3 on PW. But the following may give you some insight. When using The Cummins/Dodge Bell/NV-4500 the starter mounts on the driver side. The entire engine/tranny must be moved .625" towards the passenger side to clear the starter with the saginaw PS Box. When using the Cummins/GM Bell/ GM-NV-4500, the starter mounts on the passenger side. Lots of room, no clearance issues. I imagine the SAE #3 with starter on the drivers side would also have issues with PS Box.
