I had a set of wheels on my '52 that had the inner lip of the center just inside from the inner bead of the rim. They fit perfectly. I ran some 33X12.50R16.5 tires on them and while they really should have been taller tires (about 35 would have been just about right) they looked just fine. In fact, thinking back on it, if they hadn't been all the way towards the center, they would have rubbed inside.
