I put up a second building two years ago. It is 54 x 80 x 14 ceiling. 14' allows for a 12 foot door which allows me to pull the truck and trailer in with a vehicle on it. This height also allows for a mezzanine or loft if needed. I chose to run 12' high x 48" pallet rack along the long wall instead of the loft. I insulated under the floor with 2" foam sheets and ran the plastic tube hot water heat in the floor. It is the only way to go for heat. For the walls a friend spray foamed the walls about 2" deep then we put the standard 6" thick x 8 foot wide fiberglass with steel over this. On the ceiling we used blown fiberglass for about a R40. It takes less than 300 gallons of propane a year to heat it to 65 degrees. It has two 12 x 12 steel insulated garage doors. You can't go wrong with good insulation it will always pay for itself. Whatever you do build it larger than what you think you need. I told my wife that my first building, which is 48 x 72, would be more than enough. Now I wish I would have built the second one bigger. I guess it is a fact of nature that a person acquires things until the space runs out.
