Hi. I have a '79 dodge power wagon 3/4 ton. It has a 318 engine and a NP435 4 speed. The truck is a great 4x4 and the full time feature is good on wet roads though it makes for many stops at gas stations. Unfortunatly the truck is now parked with a crack in the frame. It seams that the briliant Chrisler engineers placed the gas tank tight up against the drivers side frame. I think this was to provide more ground clearance in the 4x4 model as 2x4s have the tank separated from the frame but hanging lower. Anyway, over the years the 3' or so of frame next to the tank filled up with debris and rusted it to less than half it's the thickness of the passengers side. I would check for this condition in any '70s dodge 4x4 before buying.
