Many of those 1914 cars were also used as trucks by removing the rear body portion and installing a flatbed. In 1915 they made a cab and chassis for installation of a commercial body by outside vendors, and in August of 1916, the first true commercial chassis was built for export to England. In 1916 the US Army bought it's first Dodge Trucks. You are however correct that the first Dodge pickups were not built in house until 1924. But those are really 'Chryslers', as both Dodge Brothers tragically died in 1920 and Dodge was bought from the holding company by Walter Chrysler. ( source Don Bunn)
