So these drums can be very stubborn for sure. You can be fighting two things. First it is tight on the hub as you know. Second even though you have collapsed the shoes they can still cause trouble. When I get a stuck drum I remove the hub/drum together. Take the nuts completely off the brake shoe anchor/adjuster bolts at the bottom of the backing plate. Then drive them through the backing plate with a punch. This along with the top adjusters moved all the way in will take the shoes out of the equation completely. Then remove the bearing retaining nuts from the spindle and slide the hub/drum/bearings off the spindle. Once you have that off start picking up the drum and dropping it on a hard surface. This should shake the hub loose from the drum. Heat only works to clean the corrosion from the hub/drum interface area. Any heat you apply is absorbed by the outer laminated piece and does not penetrate into drum. Good luck. Please share if you are successful.
