No modifications to the new ones they will just bolt on easy. They are tapered and will lock into the opening. The new arms have a 1/2" Ratchet hole in the ball socket part you can put a breaker bar into it to hold it tight when putting them on and off. Problem is getting the old ones off. The nut that holds them on is connected to a part that turns inside the old arm. That is what I need to jam tight so I can get the nut off with out using a torch to cut them off. If I drill thru the bars end around the socket I can put a bolt in the hole to keep it from turning while I remove the nut from the old one.
