He can always go for a psych disability. "Too crazy to work", basically. I once rented to a couple where the guy already had a "bad back" and the wife was going for "psych". Finally she got it and her husband told me, defensively, "She worked HARD for her disability." One thing I've learned, though, is that although anybody can get on SSD, you HAVE to hire one of the lawyers who specializes in doing it. They get a nice cut of the action, of course, and I wouldn't be surprised if all they really do is grease the right SS administration palms with a portion of it. But that's the system now, and that's where we are as a nation -- put the unemployed on the dole so they don't get ornery and try something like Coxey's Army.
