I would always prefer an original truck to a restored truck. First, I couldn't justify the prices of restored trucks. But even if I could, I would have to know the reputation of the restorer. Too many people out there are popping out junk with a lot of plastic under the paint.
And if the unrestored truck doesn't need a huge amount of body work, I would leave it alone and do only the mechanical or electrical that is needed.
