I still stick to setting the motor back enough to get a real mechanical fan in there. The Autoworld motor mount kit is supposed to let you do just that. I should have set mine back another inch but it worked out perfect for my rear driveshaft right where I have it so I didn't end up with 8 or 900 in new shafts. If you are running AC, stick with a smaller core up front (about 3/4" thick), mine is about 1 1/2" and it is right up against the hood latch bracket assy. It seems like the Duramax CAC is a better fit too, I had some decent mods to my 01 CAC to clear the headlight brackets, which I still had to trim. I think the 454 stock radiator, which is a single row of 1" tubes is just fine, but the inlet/outlet size is my only concern. You won't have to contend with the rear heat/AC lines on the fender like I did.
