Hello all,
After researching on You tube and the Net, I fashioned my own bushing installation and removal using a long 7/16" bolt, washers, sockets and a nut. Pulled and replaced all the spring and frame bushings on the T-215 open cab frame I am installing on my(Salad) WC-12. My brother and I installed the axles on the sandblasted and powder coated frame today. Looks real nice. The axles are all cleaned up of old grease and loose paint. Will wipe and spot sand them, then it's time for some black paint.
The old WC-12 Frame (8676966) I had on it for the past 27 years was very rusted out in places and not economically feasible to repair.
All the body parts are back from the Body shop less the cab that is being worked on last. Should be another 1-2 weeks before it is back.
The IND-7(237) is sitting in my garage all wrapped up in plastic since it's rebuild in May with the following :
VPW Performance Cam and HD Valve Springs, Valves etc
Bored .030
New Pistons, Pins etc
Balanced
241 "Spitfire" Head decked and installed on the block and a
New Vintage Vintage Wiring Of Maine Harness
I am considering putting a 1951 Semi-Synchro Dodge 4 speed in place of the Non-Synchro unit. It will bolt up to the WC bellhousing, but I will need to make small modifications to the Brake and TC lever locations. Should be a much more quieter ride with 3rd and 4th gear being Helical cut vs the whine of the straight cut geared Tranny. Like I said still contemplating on it.
Will keep you all posted as to how the re-assembly is coming along. It's gratifying to see the truck being put back together.
