No. Our valve have such looow pressure they don't need zinc.

35 pounds of seat pressure in a flat head,means 35 pounds on the tappet/cam.

70 pounds in a OHV with 1.5:1 rocker ratio means 105 pounds load on the tappet/cam. It's why they went to roller rockers.

So, what ever the oil cos put in to replace the zinc is just fine for most of us.

Hemi? Pre-cat OHV, like chicken soup for a cold, couldn't hoit.

But zinc kills cats, that is why the leave it out these days.
