The '50s Packards were not the greatest - problems with engines, problems with automatic transmissions (there's a popular kit to install a Torqueflite)...

The company went under in '58, after merging with Studebaker, but they'd been struggling for years. None of the independents (Packard, Nash, Kaiser, etc.) could compete with the Big Three.

Our 1947 Custom Super Clipper is a whole other story. Really well designed and built - the engine is a 356-inch straight eight flathead with nine main bearings... I suggest you tell your customer to sell his car and buy a Packard from the '40s.
