Charging issue

Got a problem with the 47 WF-32. Was wondering what others think it could be. I am thinking regulator but not sure. The truck will not charge. If I open the regulator up and spray it with my good contact cleaner it takes off and charges. It will function properly for 1-2 days and then stop charging. Sometimes you can rev the engine and it will take off and charge but its beginning to not charge at all doing that. If I take the cover off and bump the top contact it will start to charge and function properly. Is the regulator starting to get bad on the old truck? Ideas or thoughts?
