I don't know that there's another place in the country where there are Indian reservations so close to big cities. Between Puyallup and Boom City (Tulalip), 2 million non-Indians have ready access to the big stuff. I remember back in the '70s when Indian fireworks (and untaxed smokes) really started getting popular, the state patrol made an effort to bust white guys driving fireworks and cigs off the rez. Even some of the county deputies tried. Of course that was around the same time that yard sales were getting popular (hard times in the Boeing recession) and the state Revenuers made an effort to make the yard sale people collect and remit sales tax. Now they seem to have totally given up on both.
