Back in 1980 when I was a kid (15), I helped/had my 1970 Ford F100's 6 cylinder 300 rebuilt by an oldtimer that worked on aircraft in the navy in WW2 the big one. He had the pistons knurled. It was cheaper than boring the engine and buying new pistons. I beat the crap out of that truck for 3 years before selling it.
