I could think of dozens of things I do that somebody thinks are unsafe or just plain wrong. There are an infinite number of things that could go wrong, in any situation. Maybe you're one of those extra-careful guys who never takes any risks and always obeys every law, keeps his paint in a "flammables" cabinet, always chocks all the wheels, has all his work done by a certified mechanic, never operates a machine unless he's been trained on it, etc. Nothing wrong with that. If it scares you to know I might be out there on the road somewhere, I'm sorry.
Personally when I'm forced to go to the wet side of the mountains once a year or so, what scares me is all the air-headed bliss ninnies drifting from lane to lane, speeding up and slowing down, cutting across 4 lanes of heavy traffic without signaling, and generally not paying any attention to anything except maybe their "device". The other thing that scares me over there is road rage. I had a guy pull up next to me on I5 and shoot my side window out one time. At this point, I'm happy to just stay in Idaho, or at least east of the Cascades. So, odds are good we'll never encounter each other.
