The tag wasn't switched to the driver side until the end of 1946. So far I've only found Detroit built trucks with steel tags, but I travel in the wrong areas to find many CA trucks. Since most other things were done at both plants I assume this was too. But production was low enough in CA that It's hard to know what was done. Since the CA plant didn't restart production until 1946 I'm guessing the zinc tag was used from the start there post war. That would only leave late 1942 for CA truck steel tag production.
