I mounted a Hickey Sidewinder winch under the bed of my '91 Dodge Cummins Diesel truck, and installed a roller fairlead in the center of the rear bumper. I never had to extract my truck in a stuck situation with this setup, but it was very handy for pulling non-running vehicles onto trailers.
